Here's some of the sites that I visit frequently. Mabye the rest of you will like 'em, too.
Roger Wilco's Virtual Broomcloset This is the biggest and best website dedicated to Space Quest, a classic adventure game series that I love dearly. Even today, I'm highly involved in the existing SQ fan community. The message board for this site is where I spend a lot of my time.
SpaceQuest.Net The OTHER best SQ site out there. Run by a Mr. Frans von Hofwegen, SQ.Net has a lot of unique goodies that the Virtual Broomcloset doesn't. Plus, Frans has what is probably the world's largest collection of SQ stuff. SpaceQuest.Net...flushing good stuff!
The Many Deaths Of... Are you a sadistic bitch/bastard? Have a macabre sense of humor? Get your jollies from watching others suffer violent and excrutiatingly painful deaths? Well, you're not alone! Liz Calkins (alias Jeysie) not only shares your tastes, but has created an entire web site dedicated to exhibiting the numerous violent (and usually hilarious) deaths in old-school adventure games. This used to be the 'Many Deaths of Roger Wilco' which showcased only Space Quest deaths; however, the Diva O' Death has recently begun expanding the site to include other adventure series. So, if you're itching for some bloody carnage and can't be arsed to turn on CNN, then head on over to the place where "Every day is a good day to die."
Oh, BTW...Jeysie happens to be my absolute bestest friend in the whole world. ;D
(And I'm not just saying that because she's hosting this site now...)
The Space Quest 7 Project The official site for the Space Quest 7 fangame project, an attempt by loyal SQ fans to pick up where Sierra left off; to give Roger Wilco one last shot at saving the universe. Using their own scratch engine and developing professional-quality graphics and soundtracks, the SQ7 team is intent on making this the fangame to end ALL fangames...and since the project is being driven by the fans, you know that they're taking this effort seriously. Just don't expect the finished product for a while.
The Sierra Website The official site of Sierra, the game company that once upon a time unleashed Space Quest unto the world. Don't bother going there now, though; the Sierra of old has long since died. The modern-day company is now only a publisher, and its ties to SQ are all but non-existent. Sigh...
GameFAQs GameFAQs is THE place to be if you're looking for info or help about video games. There are detailed FAQs and walkthroughs for just about every game ever made...and if there isn't, you can post a request for one. There are even game-specific message boards for you to post any questions you might have. Good stuff!
Home of the Underdogs An abandonware site that serves as a museum of sorts, exhibiting the computer games of yesteryear, particularly those that never garnered the commercial attention they deserved. You can get lots of oldie-but-goodie games here, and the people who run the site are really friendly.
